Renette and Todd’s Movie-Themed Wedding

by | Oct 9, 2019 | Weddings

When Renette and Todd first reached out to me about photographing their wedding, they told me that they had already been married, multiple times in multiple locations and what they had in store was anything but traditional. But if you have talked to me at all you know I’m a big believer in doing your wedding your way.

We started at the Alfond Inn in Winter Park where both the bride and groom were getting ready in a shared room. I have to say this made it very convenient to get photos of them getting ready. When I arrived, Renette was just finishing up her hair which was done by her bridesmaid Tabitha, a phenomenal hair and makeup artist plus a former bride of ours ?.

After taking a few candids of Renette getting ready I hung up her dress from the Formal Spot in Winter Garden as well as Todd’s jacket and did some detail photos.

I loved seeing bride and groom and wedding parties all getting ready together. Part of the reason they were all sharing a room was for the premier of their wedding video. See most of their guests thought they were coming to their wedding, ceremony and all but what this video revealed, in a brilliant and comical way was that they were already married. So after everyone was ready they all sat down to watch the final cut.

You can watch the video below.

Once the video was done we headed downstairs with everyone to capture individual and group portraits with what else but the time machine from Back To The Future! We were able to capture a ton of fun photos with the car before the couple headed over to the Winter Park Farmers Market for the big reveal.

While we had been doing photos guests were arriving at the Winter Park Farmers Market where they walked in on the red carpet, took photos in front of a step and repeat and were handed popcorn and boxes of candy, the drapes from Swag Décor made it feel just like a real premier.

Just about the time all the guests started to wonder what was going on the video started playing and with the help of their wedding planner Jaimz Dillman it looked like it was a live feed. In the video, the couple takes off in the DeLorean, then in real life they pulled up to the venue in the DeLorean! It was real movie magic!

The couple was introduced and shared their first dance which was a mash up of a more traditional song and Baby Shark. Everything about the day was given a fun unique twist that really showed off the couples personality and made for a unforgettable day. Live Fusion Entertainment kept the dance floor full, John Michael Events kept everyone’s belly full and Sweet by Holly kept everyone’s taste buds full.

This was such a fun way to celebrate a wedding. Thank you Renette and Todd for allowing us to be part of your big day. Please enjoy this preview and best of luck with everything in your future!
