Kate and Steven’s Treasury on the Plaza Wedding
Kate and Steven chose the Treasury on the Plaza St Augustine for their wedding. They loved the beauty of the venue as well as all the really cool lighting options they offer at the Plaza. The spotlights that followed the bride down the aisle were awesome!
We started the day off by meeting with Kate and her girls in the bridal suite, grabbing her dress, perfectly selected from The Dressing Room and her shoes to take some photos in the front lobby. We then grabbed some fun photos of Kate and her wedding party as they sipped champagne in anticipation of their big day. They all looked beautiful with their hair and makeup done by Kristin Tewson.
Once we were finished the girls, we went to the guys who were hanging out upstairs watching football in anticipation of getting ready. We had the guys get dressed and we took them down to the lobby for their formal portraits.
Once we finished with the guys, we went to set up the first look between Kate and her dad. We decided for this first look that it was would be fun for her to be revealed behind the curtains that were separating the ceremony from the rest of the venue. It made for a great reveal and dad was in awe at the sight of his beautiful daughter.
The ceremony and reception were in the same place, I loved how they covered the vault so that we could have that revealed for the reception. The rows of large columns made for such a unique setting leading up to the couple saying their vows and “I do”.
Once the ceremony was done, we quickly captured their family photos and then headed outside with their bridal party so that the venue could flip the room and prepare it for the reception. We were able to grab some great portraits of their entire wedding party, using the gorgeous views of Plaza de la Constitucion.
Once we were finished, I sent the bridal party back inside with Jonathan to set them up for one more fun group shot while I stayed out with Kate and Steven so that we could capture a few more gorgeous photos of the happy couple. Before cocktail hour was over we did photos of the couple on the 2nd floor of the lobby and of course you can’t visit the Treasury on the Plaza without doing photos in the old bank vault.
The room looked incredible for the reception, Tula Rose did an outstanding job with the flowers, the cake from Publix looked delicious as always, the buffet from Executive Food Service smelled amazing and the planters at Coastal Celebrations made sure it came together perfectly.
The big reveal!
The bride and groom were “locked in the vault” while guests came in ad found their seats, once the party was ready to begin, the DJ announced the happy couple and there they came out of the vault, complete with fog.
They made their way out to the dance floor and went right into their first dance, which between the lighting, the columns and the fog on the dance floor, couldn’t have been more magical and romantic. We had a blast capturing candids throughout the night as people danced, laughed and partied the night away.
Towards the end of the night we were able to sneak the couple out for one more unique night photo in the front windows of the building. The couple also opted to do one final dance, just the two of them, which to me is such a sweet moment to capture before we leave the room to truly let them have the room to themselves.
We set up a sparkler exit to send the happy couple off and watched as they drove away for the first time as husband and wife.
Congratulations Kate and Steven, we wish nothing but the best for your future. Please enjoy this preview of your wedding day!
